if its sitting with no fluid then that is why the light is on. it comes on if either the parking brake is on or if the brake fluid reservior is not above the minumum.

You were driving around with a busted line before you decide to park it? Or did you stop driving before that light came on? If it's been on and you've driving, there is a posibility that you sir, have an air pocket in your braking system.

No I was driving and then I heard a little pop from the rear and then I had no brakes so I had to go back home (luckily I was like 2 mins away) and I was braking with my handbrake on the way back. I had the car sitting for like 6 days now and after 3 days the handbrake light kept staying on

I have the same problem, but the fluid is about 1cm above the min line.

I think its a short because i depinned the ebrake sensor's wire and it has gone away. unplugging the sensor did nothing. Moving it by hand brightened and dimmed the light slightly, but am I correct in thinking its a short?
