bent rim, NEED ADVICE
My friend who owns a CAR just ate a pot hole and we had to replace his tire.
On closer inspection it seems like the rim had bent outward a little on the inside side, just a tiny bit; much of the rim is still in it's original state.
We do not know if it was the pothole or from a couple of months back when we did a spin out @ 120 mph.
Should the rim be replaced? Or is it safe to slap on a new tire and call it a day.
cliff: bent rim on the inside side of the rim-minor. Wondering if it's safe to reuse the rim.

If it holds air pressure it is probably *safe*. However you will probably have to balance it.
My recommendation is you go to a rim repair joint and get that straightened out.

When two of my rims were bent from a accident, I just grabbed the heaviest hammer I owned and bang the **** out of it. Then after that I just got it balance along wif the tires. Didn't lose air or anything.

Remind me never to buy used wheels or a used car from you.
At least now we know why you have that username...

That's the last place I would try to use a bent wheel that was not properly repaired.
