if this is your first tuner which it sounds like it is. go b16. h22 is cheap for the motor but is very expensive for the modifications you have to do and the special parts you need. plus h22 are BIG motors. if your car is lowered you will scrape your header everywhere and might even dent your oil pan. then you would have to replace them which is not cheap. b16's are the easiest swaps and are easy to swap the full swap in. its all plug and play besides wiring vtec. good luck

he said it pretty good, the H22's pwn big time, but they're a big as motor, I'm pretty sure you have to do some fab to get it to fit right, but yeah, it'll hang low, like if you've ever driven a V gen jetta on lowering springs, you can dent the **** outta ur oil pan, probably going with a B series is what I would do, less fab (if any) and parts are cheaper

ive owned both and i miss my torque dearly now i am running a b16.. the civic board is very informative and knowledgable as far as h series but it is definetly b series biased. built h23s are also beasts. either way you have a lot of potential.

if i go b16 im plannin on ebin able to turbo it by christmas... i can get the b16 swaped in for cheaper parts wise and my cousin can put it in for free
but hes never done anything with an h22 so he wouldnt be able to put it in and theres a place called rpm near me that installs motors but thats gonna run me and extra 1000 for them to instal the h22
and by the time i pay for that and any parts i need ofr it to fit i could have a turboed b16a

i agree with hatchingmn, the balance is much better. parts are more frequently come across.

and yeah if you get bored you can always turbo it.... or stroke it to 1.9 :-P

either way you go b16 is goo fun

Well like many say go big or go home!!! h22 all the way you will not get disappointed, and if you get a b16 and turbo it just think how it would be to get beat by the h22 swap!!!

an h22 would be fun but a b16 is more practical and there is so much potential. If you ever wanted boost an h22 it would cost a lot to fab a turbo setup because the h22 fills up the engine bay. I say b-series in the eg.
crx w/h22 would be dope!

i know a guy that has a h22 turbod crx and its not that fast. since the h22 takes up all the engine bay you cant have a large turbo or manifolds and it cuts down on your intercooler space.with b16 it is a b-series motor and you can find parts EVERYWHERE.

I was in the same dilemna you were in about a month ago...I have a eg hatch that I had been debating on either b16 or h22 for a long time...I settled on the b16 based on the fact it was my first swap, and im in high school still and I needed to get the swap done in a weekend...

It has been about a month and every time I drive it I still get a insanely big smile.... I am definately happy with my choice..

Make sure if you order from hmotorsonline he gets you the right shift linkage, he gave me some shitty stuff he probably fabbed up himself to save some $$ and it worked like crap. I bought integra 94-01 linkage and it works perfectly.
