They aren't made for performance.

Bags are for show use only..the only plus about bags..is to slammed you car..they are nbot cheap to maintain..alot of my friends have bagged cars and trucks..and are replacing parts all the time. do you wanna spend $3k to make you car go up and down?

if its going to be for track use dont get bags period. no need to explain. not stiff and not for performance just dont lower your car that much if your woried that your going to scrape.the end coilovers ftw imo

bags are not for show purposes only. i was reading a "credible" article in a magazine about a corvette z06. the z06 had coilovers and front and rear sway bars. they took it around the track and recorded the time. after they got there fastest lap, they pulled the coilovers and replaced them with air bags, and did a few laps. the only differences were the airbags, everything else stayed identical, and the air bag fastest lap was something around 3 seconds faster than with coilovers.

And the whole maintenance thing, in my experience, there was no real maintenance.

oh and you could piece together kits for sub 2K

What credible article?? I've never heard of a C5, C5Z, C6, or C6Z with airbags at all. The closest thing I've heard of is one that retained the leaf springs and had helper springs. Three seconds is a lot of time on the track, so that tells me that something was seriously wrong with the coilover setup, or the story wasn't very credible....and if it was credible, I'm sure I would've heard about this fantastic suspension for my C5.
