Default swap questionn

aight so i havea 95eg coupe with a b16 i reciently bottomed the oil pan out lost all the oil and kept driving unknowing that there was no oil,(my dummy lights are always on) the engine stopped running, then i gota new oilpan new oil i got it to start running again, but it ran like shitt, so i then went out and bought an LS longblock and i have that in my gurage, yesterday i went out and took the head off the b16 and found that there was coolent in the #1 cylinder, giving me the impression it was the headgasket, so the question is, should i replace the headgasket and keep using the b16, and hope everything else is ok, or should i go LS/vtec? this is just my question i alreaddy orderd the golden eagle conversion kit so that might affect the outcome
