Whoa, that's a late crossover. Stock B16 crossover is at 5500 rpms. Well, can't tell the ECU based off chipping specs. But the ECU could also be a P30.

Get a custom chip for it, about 20 bucks shipped, no problems then. The person could also read what's on the current chip and tell you what it is.

Not really, alot of fully built motor crack vtec at 8.5 and reline at around 11.5. Its all in the dyno tune'n. Some vtec are more effective at higher RPMs.

But your motor isn't going anywhere near 11.5k, making that irrelevant to your situation. SVOboy has the right idea.

Yeah, but he'd have to buy a chip burner to read it himself. pgmfi.org is the beast though.

looks to be a converted P06 to me.
hopefully you didn't expose the ROM enough to erase it by removing the sticker/cover like this...

The rom won't erase for hours, I've tried it, damn ***** in full sunlight for a day. It looks like a auto to manual p28 to me.

it's auto-manual conversion for sure. But I thought 02D011F0-1500 P28s came with twin 5050s not a single 5151.

I dunno, but it doesn;t look like d11 or the 8 way resistor is soldered in.

hard to say about D11, not a very good pic.... wait this doesn't matter. If VTEC works and you don't have a solid CEL, it's what's in the EEPROM that matters.
Unfortunately it's soldered in. nothing a little time with a soldering iron will not solve but not as easy as it should be.

personally I'd love to know what WOP means...

JDM B16A: your original question... it's obviously a converted ECU of some kind. What it was originially doesn't matter any more. The program in the EEPROM is what tells the ECU what to do and how to run your engine.

If you really want to know, have someone carefully remove the EEPROM for you with a soldering iron and read it with a burner/reader.

That ECU started life as a P06-A52. Automatic P06 '94 or '95 model year.
