ITR owners can be anybody!
Iv noticed alot lately that ITR owners could be anybody! from a lawyer, to a highschool kid, ages 17 and even 50!
Iv met a few ITR owners that are really successful, own porcshes, E46 M3s, Lotus, etc etc.. and just love the ITR... I got stopped by some older guy in a parking lot today with a Porsche Boxster S and he was telling me he owns a 98 ITR all done up engine wise and he tracks it and dominates.
I think thats pretty neat :D shows alot how people appreciate this car for what it is.

Its slightly different over here, most owners are males from 18 to 35 but from all differing type professions, from bar tenders to cops (2 police men in my home town have 96spec ITRs) But the strangest owner i have come across was a 59yr old woman who bought the very first ITR to arrive in my local dealership back in 1998. She walked in and told the sales guy she was looking for something a little different and he jokingly suggested the ITR and she liked it and bought it there and then and used it for going to play golf. She kept it till 2001 and traded it with only 21k on the clock against a new CTR, naturally the dealer literally raped her in the trade in deal, allowed/showed her the equivalent of $12k on it, and had the car sold that evening for $20!!
I've had people here in Alabama say we (me & the wife) need to grow up. I'm 40 & she's 36 & we love our R. Well we're having way too much fun so I guess we'll stay immature for a while longer. Not to mention she's as hyped on modifying the car as I am.

lets not forget the cocky owners!!
i met a owner of a black itr like 3 years ago.. i had a 99 gsr at the time...
I loved the car, and found the owner to be pretty funny...
the fact that he pulled up to a hang out, and steps out the car with a huge cuban cigarette to one side of his mouth.. made me wonder about this guy...
he then goes on about how he did this to the car, and did that.. heh.. jus braggin about his car when nobody even askd... i pretty much got the wrong impression on all itr owners from this one guy... (mind you, my first time lookin at a itr in person)
two months later.,, the car some how had a single cam motor installed with plans for a "kswap"
a couple months later, rumor got bak to me that the car was stolen.. and i never seen or heard of that guy again...

I would have to agree about others having bad impressions about R owners. I've gotten that before, but after people meet me they can tell right off the bat that I'm a very goofy and humble individual.

The thought of the Cuban cigar is too funny! Real chick magnet.LOL!
As far as Type R owners go, I've made mention of this before, how some of them give the impression that they are (all that & a bowl of cherries).
Even to this day there's is a guy who I know here in Alabama who thinks since he works @ a tuner shop & owns an R, acts somewhat OK around me cause I drive an R too but, to alot of others who don't have an R or think his word on an issue is God, he can act like a real jerk.
As for me, I'm just me & use my R as a real good way of meeting new poeple when I attend a (hang out) or any car event.
