ok, i just finished putting a b18a1 swap into my 90 base model hatch. i used an S1 tranny, 90 integra axles/half shaft (new/reman), and 91 4 door civic dx brakes. the passanger side axle will not turn manualy or by trying to push the car. i havent started the car and tried to drive it out of fear of messing up the transmission if the differential isnt messed up already...what would cause an axle not to turn, how would you fix it, and would trying to move the axle by driving the car hurt anything, thanks.

not sure what you are reffering to. there were two blue mesh plastic pieces on one of the axles, aside from that everything else looked like it belonged and to my knowledge stayed on. the axle will not turn in neutral only, but it will turn when its in gear....
kinda looks like this.......does anyone have the link to the old hasport how to:

its only the passanger side axle, and its only when its in neutral that it will not turn. when in gear and the clutch/throttle are being engaged it will turn. are you supposed to remove the dust rings or what?

ok. now the only thing thats puzzling me is why will the drivers said axle and the half shaft turn but the pass. wont. i mean i understand the whole dust shield thing but both were done the same way.
do both axles come with a dust shield, should i just worry about the passanger side axle since its the one that wont turn when in neutral, and whats the worst that can happen if i leave it in for a couple of days? thanks for the help.

This sounds like a dumb question but did you isolate the problem to the axle or transmission? e.g. try the other axle in the broken side to see if it spins, if it doesnt then theres something wrong on the tranny. Then you can pull it crack it and figure out why its not working.

Yes it does..Must remove dust shields and if you have a std or hf you need different hubs..(dx,si,lx,ex,etc..)

No, we just posted that picture so you know where the dust seals are located. Well, there's where they are. Cool huh?
Yes, damnit you need to remove them!

i got so caught up in the whole dust ring thing that i forgot that it wouldnt spin even before the rotor/knuckle/hub etc. was put on. its ONLY the passanger side. when in neutral, its locked, but it turns when in gear only when being driven (im assuming the motor forces it to spin...)...but yeah, what would cause this and how bad can driving it like that for a little while be on w/e is messed up? i could care less about the axles being that they have a lifetime warranty on them.
