JDM engines have VIN#'s?

The only kind of "vins" that JDM cars have look like this

or it could also look like this

they are not on the motor or tranny, however they are located under the hood.

I honestly don't think there are any on the motor. If there are, I guess its something that none of us here know about.

I don't think vin #'s are on ****....
I don't think vin #'s are on ****....
they dont have vins, they have serial numbers, as do every other HONDA engine ever produced. its the number under the engine code. not much can be told from it, except the place of production, year, and such.
you can cross reference the serial #'s on the block that are below the "B16A" or "B18C" etc...
you will have to contact Honda Japan, and they can tell you the car it came it, not sure if they can match a true Japan vin to it though
