To TPS or not to TPS, that is the question.
I just put a 1st gen B16A1 into my EG. When I turn the car on the check engine light comes on and it is a code 7 for the TPS. I am using the TPS off of my DX because the one for the B16 was broken. When I put the DX TPS on, it forces the engine to idle as high as 3,000. When I take it off, the check engine light is still on, but the idle is a little lower. Is it safe to run without a TPS? Will a DX TPS work the same as a B16A1? What should I do to get rid of this check engine light.
you need the tps sensor. are you sure you didnt switch the map and tps sensors by accident? are they wired up correctly? i have never tried a d-series tps on a b-series tb, but i am sure they work together.
yea you need a tps sensor. mine was bad during my swap too. same problem. 3000 idle.
the throttle response without the TPS is unbelivably bad. try it. there is a HUGE delay.
get a tps. make sURE you align the one off the d series motor with the intake manifold. it should work but i might be wrong.
