Default ITR Cat-back exhaust to a '94 LS 2-door?

Hi I am new to this board and to Acura cars in general. I did use the search and learned a great deal about ITR mufflers and cat-backs, but now I need to look for a new cat-back system for my 94 LS 2-door. I want something that performs better than stock, and that doesn't look too flashy, or too crummy like I got it at Midas. So I decided an Type-R cat-back should do the trick nicely. My question is:

If the ITR piping is 2.5", and the stock LS piping is 2.25", will the ITR b-pipe still bolt up to the cat without any problems? Or will I have to have a muffler shop help me out with this? (Or maybe I'm wrong about the sizes..just being extra careful)

Also, who is selling a complete ITR cat-back system? I"m in the MD/DC/VA area and would be willing to pick one up if you are selling one.

Also, I guess I could also get just the ITR muffler itself, and have an exhaust shop create the b-piping to go to the cat? Right?

Is there an official ITR part number I should look for on the muffler to make sure I'm getting a genuine ITR muffler??? I wouldn't know the difference between an LS, GSR or ITR muffler by looking at them? OR would I?

Thanks very much. This forum rocks and you guys are all very helpful. This place is a ton better than some other boards.

First of, welcome to Honda-Tech. I am from Northern Virginia and I just took off my stock ITR catback and it's for sale.

I'm not sure if it's a direct bolt-on. If I recall correctly, the ITR has either a longer or shorter catalytic converter than the LS and GS-R. Can someone confirm that?

the itr catback is a direct bolt on for the LS hatch
itr piping is 2.25in with a few bottlenecks where the diameter is smaller than 2.25in

Your LS might have 2" but not 2-1/4" tubing. The ITR exhaust is mandrel bent 2-1/4" OD tubing however the B pipe flange has a bottleneck where the ID is 1-3/4".

Thanks for the quick replies! I am impressed!

Is this a job I could handle myself, or how much time and money will a mechanic charge me?? Do I need new gaskets or bolts or anything else like that???

I need to do this pretty soon as it's inspection time (for emissions at least) in MD, and I know it won't pass the visual inspection with the holes in the piping as it is right now.
