Default Stolen Cars

Sup, Ive noticed alot of stolen cars which sux... and as I read through the threads I notice that no one ever has insurance on em.... Insurance is expensive... I know...I sell insurance..... but I also know that the expensive part of insurance is the (Collision) part... You can purchase Liability cheap and add (Comprehensive) coverage for not to much $ more.. (Comprehensive) covers (Stolen Vehicle, hail, fire, theft..etc...) You do not have to buy collision coverage on an Insurance policy.. Me for instance (1995 Honda Civic Ex (V-Tec, Badgeless, CAI, Si Rims on the way, Short Shifter, Magnaflow Muffler which is tucked in nicely with a resonator) For Liability I was going to pay roughly bout 260$ and to add (Comprehensive) it was like an extra 65$ for a 250 deductible - 73$ for a 100$ deductible.. which I have /// Furthermore companies like Progressive Insurance will pay for the first 1000.00 in custom parts and equipment as well which means my Si rims, CAI, muffler and shifter will be replaced if my car were to be stolen... Knowledge is power.....

Sounds like a topic for General Discussion... https://honda-tech.com/zeroforum?id=40

Insurance prices and policies will be different in each state, depending on the state's insurance requirements.

yes, in california, its called "customization coverage".

they cover it if its called" sports suspension". the only time they hassle over it is based on your driving record and age. so if your a 60 year old man with a perfect driving record, driving a lowered impala, you will be insured regardless, if you're 16, with 1+ tickets, probably not gonna happen.

Being dropped does not matter... Theres no such thing as "sports suspension" and if you are 16 with a bunch of tickets it still wont matter but for alot of money.. Engine swaps will be covered as long as you have a reciept...

huh.. sorry...let me try again..Being dropped does not matter...(you can insure your car) Theres no such thing as "sports suspension" coverage.....if you are 16 with a bunch of tickets you can still insure your dropped car but it will be expensive because of the tickets and the type of car you drive.. not because its dropped...

Engine swaps will be covered as long as you have a reciept...

I would just play it safe. Right now I am paying 347 a month. Plan in July its getting cheaper but still thats an arm and a leg for one accident.

who said anything about "sport suspension" coverage ? in some states, insurers ask if the vehicle have been modified and its checked off as "sport/performance suspension". Geico have my suspension listed on my policy that way.

huh....maybe... I had my car insured with geico and they didnt ask... I think if you mention that you want to insure your "sport suspension" because it cost you a ton of cash that would make sense but not for Coilovers... Figure this wouldent your car be safer because you have better suspension than a stock car... Just curious what kind of car do you drive and what consists of your "sport suspension"??? Holla back man...

What you just said really disturbed me. My EM1 just scream " STEAL ME " so I installed 3 forms of seucrities. Kill switch, Autoloc, and ALARM! Now you're telling me your cousin with those 3 exacts things got his car stolen? I mean, did he forget to turn off his SWTICH? or arms his car? or put the autoloc on?! Either 1. They toll the ******* car awy with a toll truck. or 2. Your cousin's car was producing 600 HP+ so they did everythign possible (including sending in a pro) to take the car.

my homie got his car jacked couple of weeks ago. he had autolock and he took his ecu out. they must have towed that **** guarenteed. the sad thing about it is that he only had liability. we know who did it but we cant prove it to many parts just to have liability.. i myself have fulll coverage. it may cost more but i dont have to worry about if it gets stolen. i'll have money to start over
