you need to chip your ecu to remove the speed and rev limiters. that being said, go learn more about your car before you do anything, it sounds like you don't know a damn thing.

cheers for the advice but please dont say nasty things like that.

honda's are hard kit. why not play rough. wats wrong with wanting to rev high and go fast.

its ppl saying things like that that waste my time. dont ya know anyone who could sell me one. can i do it without soldering? hooking up my vcon was hard enough..

Build your motor up, then get a stand alone ecu. F'n Honda's have a good selection of stand alone ecus. Hondata, probaly the most known, Greddy eManage, think I've seen a few people use Haltechs. If you don't have the kind of funds for those there's always the MSnS system, the ultimate DIY kit. MSnS stands for Megasquirt and spark. Unassembeled kits run anywhere between $125 up to $190. Assembeled (Meaning you don' thave to solder the boards and everything) run ~$300.

as for eBay chips and such; You have to tread carefully. Most of them are a load of crap. I've seen people with them and most of them are nothing more than a few $.49 Radioshack resistors inside a plastic case with a sticker on it.

I've seen some SOHC motors make some power.... It's all in the time in money. That's why I said "BUild your motor up." Other wise, just the ecu thing pretty much serves no purpose

i think il live with a top speed of 112 then. maybe get a lightened flywheel for the same price.

thing is i thought someone would be able to tell me they have a chip just to take the top limit off, doesnt apexi do a fuel cut off defender? all jdm's have them so there has got to be an easy solution..

Well said!

Why would you rev an engine, whats worse a STOCK 1.5l, that is not built to 9k?

Your not going to gain much power, just lots of noise.
