dragging sound from front right wheel
I have a dragging sound comming from my passenger side front wheel area. it seems to me that it is comming from the brakes. I jacked up the front of the car took both wheels off and saw that the passenger side was spinning slower than the driver side, I also faintly heard the dragging sound from the passenger side (Sound gets louder with speed). I chaged the pads and rotor last night and now the only thing i can think of is the caliper. The car has been sitting for the whole winter as, i was doing my motor swap. Any ideas on what else could be causing the dragging of the wheel?
make sure its not the wheel hub.. does it get louder when you turn left?
if its coming from you tranny it could be the inside hub
if its coming from you tranny it could be the inside hub
Is it just rust that has formed on the rotors from sitting? Also check the calipers to make sure the piston isn't stuck out. I had rear breaks that rubbed because of the piston sticking out.
could be all that or if you changed your wheels from stock you could have a clearance problem...maybe your wheel is grinding on the caliber.

i'm going to assume everything worked when you put it away, and avoid ill-fitting parts or bent dust shield guesses.
you most likely have either:
1. a frozen caliper. the piston isn't going back in like it should or the slides are gummed/frozen up, causing the brake to drag. were your pads worn unevenly between sides? was one rotor (the noisy one) a lot hotter when you parked it than the other one? a stuck caliper is very common if you've left it sitting for a good period of time. i've gone through LOTS over the years.
2. a bad wheel bearing. sounds a lot like above, but nothing gets overy hot. just dragging and grinding, and later a wobbly wheel. take off your knuckles and either press em out and new ones in, or bring the knuckle and all the parts to a shop and have them do it for 20 bucks.

well its not a clearence issue, its not the rust and its not the clearence, so it is probobly the hubs, or could it be the tranny itself?

wheel bearings???, so if i take the axles out of the knuckle it should stop making the noise right?
