Default 2 Oxygen Tanks and 2 Acetalyne Tanks - What to do?

I've got 2 Oxygen Tanks and 2 Acetalyne Tanks with no use for them. I'll gladly sell them but I dont know how much they are worth and what the policy is on shipping them.

Any ideas or offers?

Thanks,
Alex

contact a local gas filling company, im sure they sell them and could give you a price.

they would probably also buy yours if I had to guess.

You can't ship the acetylene tank period. The oxygen would have to be depressurized and purged. That is going to make it much more difficult to put back in service.

Advertise them locally, they will sell in an instant. This is assuming you know the history on them, and they have a clear title. If they were "found" say, in the acquisition of a factory or building (residula property left inside) they may be "leased" bottles, and won't be refilled by the owning company.

I had an engineer leave these bottles at one of my construction sites and he fell of the face of the earth. If he was leasing them, nobody will fill them up?

Likely.

I got burnt on the first set of bottles I bought. I still remember it to this day. I bought them from Canal Road Salvage. Took them to the welding supply noted on the bottles. Said they are mine, I would like an exchange/fill. The kind gent on the other side of the counter, rolled them back behind the counter, then ran the serial numbers. He smiled, said "son, these are leased bottles, thanks for bringing them back." I was 16, I went home without my bottles and $100 bucks poorer. I tried to recover from Canal Road Salvage, they just laughed at me... that was 28 or so years ago...

I took a thurough look around the bottles and found a serial number with a sticker on one. This explains why the engineer just ditched them here. Should I call the company and hold them ransom?

If you found the serial number and the company, give them a call and ask if they were leased bottles or owned. They will be straight with you. That way you will know what you have.
