Default Could I use a D16A6 block+head in my DPFI d15b2?

My block is getting no compression. I do not have the money to do an all out mpfi swap although I would like to. For now I just need my car to run so I can get to and from work. My bro is doing a ZC swap in his 90 crx and his d16a6 is still running good and strong. He is using his old harness w/ splicing some wires so I can't use his harness for mpfi change over... anyhow with that said, I would just like to know if I can simply put my IM and EM on his d16a6 block and head and have everything running.

Why dont you just have your car wired and change it over. You have the expansive parts all you need to do is get all the MPFI parts and rewire it.

I've already said that I do not have the money or time right now to get the parts for the mpfi setup. All I need to know is will it work?

It will work, but it will be really running lean (1.5L computer on a 1.6L engine).

I'm confused how you don't have the time to do an MPFI swap but you have the time to swap an engine.

I am sure anything is possible you just have to put your mind to it! I have a few questions for you. YOur brother is giving you the entire engine. Go to the junkyard and buy the plugs needed to complete the MPFI. I will sell you the injector box for 20 buck plus shipping. I am sure you can get all the wiring you need for less than 40 dollars. then all you have to do is ask for a diagram and wire it up. Just do it the right way the first time.

sorry and you will need the ECU. I seriously think you can get all the parts for less than 100 dollars and your brother is giving you the motor for free so your set.

because i do not have:
1) extra harness I can pick and choose parts from
2) extra ECU to run the new setup with

and I do have
d16a6 block / head / IM and thats about it

I only get 2 days off and then it's back to work so it's not like it's my project car on the side that i can just work on when ever.. like I said, as long as it works.. I'm planning to do the mpfi swap later on once I get my new car

I'm not worried about money. It's time that's the killer. How much would it be to ship to Southern Cali.?

I've already checked all the local junk yards. The closest one is 30mins away. They do not have the parts I need.

How do I do the mpfi swap without an extra harness to pick from? I've looked at the wiring diagrams, it'll take me a whole day just to do the harness. I've got to do 2 motor swaps in 2 days. I'm just looking for the easiest way to get my car running so I can go to work. I'm not saying I will not do the mpfi swap.. just not right now.

Like I said, money is not an issue here. It's time.

Yeah I've done swaps before just that we had plenty of time before.. now it's a matter of just get the car operation asap.

I really do hate my dpfi. In the near future I plan on droping in a B20turbo setup so no need for all that mpfi change over. I just need my car running right now so I can continue to go to work.

Well the point of this thread was to see if a d16a6 block + head would work with a d15b2 IM and wireharness / ecu.. and i got my answer - running a little lean is just fine with me. Just because I'm not gonna do what you wanted doesn't mean it's pointless.
