Okay, let me start off with the setup cuz i know you guys are sticklers for the details. 96 honda accord ex 2.2l vtec (auto), generic ebay short ram intake, stock 4-1 headers, custom open test pipe exhaust (no emissions laws here), 10.2mm spark plug wires, running mid-grade gas. I have a CEL for EGR insufficent flow, me and my mechanic have figured out that i do not need a new EGR valve like someone from DEADzone would typically recommend and he is working on getting backpressure schematics for the EGR system. That is not the topic of discussion today but i wanted to put that out there in case that helps with the diagnosis.
My problem is not that major, but it's frustrating. I have lost a good bit of power during acceleration in 1st. Not that i would like to or think it is cool, but i cant even belch my tires a bit if i try. I dont make a habit of doing that but that's just a guage of the power loss. Trying to get some suggestions of things to check to resolve this. Thanks ahead of time guys, especially for takin the time to read all this.

Has it happened all the sudden or it has been happening gradually?
I don't know if this matters for sure, but how many miles do you have? Is the transmission fluid at the right level? ...and is it clean?
Just saying... not giving a diagnosis!

 

Check your timing. That's my stab in the dark.
