Starting PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a CRX w/ a B16 for about 3 years and I sold it and just bought a 1994 Honda Civic EX (You can view the pics of the car in the picture section). I sometimes have trouble starting the car. It only happens when I do not drive the car for about 4 hours and the car sits there. If I turn it on within the 4 hours, it starts up right away. I took it too a mechanic and he said he thought it was the battery because if the battery sits to long the water drops. So I replaced the battery and nothing happened. When I go to start the car the starter and battery sound fine. I hear a noise like it is going to engage and I feel the car jolt and making a starting noise but it will not turn on. It takes like 2-4 tries and it will finally start. To rephrase things, the car does not turn over when I try to start it if it has been sitting for a while. Is this a starter problem? A fuel delivery problem?

Does the motor turn over, or does it sound like the battery is dead and just click? If it just clicks I'd check the starter. If it turns over but doesn't start then check the ignitor in the distributor. Larry
Let the car sit for a while, then get in it and make sure everything is turned off. Put the key in the on position and listen for a hum from the back of the car, it should last for about 2-4 seconds. That is the fuel pump priming the fuel lines.

I am having the exact same problem. i put new what i told was newer fuel injectors into my car, and all my problems started after that. how can you tell for sure if its a fuel pump?
dude, if its not turning over its not fuel or spark, its a defective battery, starter ignition switch or clutch saftety switch. could be a few other things as well, but those are most likely.
I put on a B&M Fuel Pressure Gauge on today and found out it is dropping fuel. So it is either the injectors are leaking, the regulator or the fuel pump.
^^
well it cant be an injector leak, if the car runs perfectly fine after a while. the starter--definaltey no. its either the fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump it sounds like. idk, i am just as baffled with my car as you are with yours.

no, its going to drop pressure when it sits, the regulator doesnt close off when the engine is off, so slowly the pressure goes back to the tank. and like i said, fuel pressure, and spark wont cause the car to "not turn over"
it wants to turn over, but its like its not getting enough fuel, so after 3 or 4 times of trying to start it starts, then it runs fine..and if i come back and start my car 10 mins later it starts, but if i let it set for 4 hours...it does it all over again

it's a leak in the fuel lines, if the fuel pump wasn't working right you'd be getting problems while you drive, same with injectors, with a leak in the fuel lines ur just losing some gas as you drive, so it must not be that big if it's not breaking up while you drive.. Check the lines, check for leaks
