well is the ecu chipped to a b16a spec? or is it still on the z6 program?

if its a non chipped p28 and running the z6 program it wont look for a knock sensor , but will probly runn like poo do to sohc maps

now if its chipped to run a oem spec dohc program then it will look for a knock sensor.

you can have the knock sensor removed thru a custom program tho!

I'm running Crome on mine, and it works fine. B16a2 with chipped p28.

basicly a knock sensor is a microphone that picks up sounds of "knock" and report it to the ecu to let it know its time to back off the timeing before this sucker blows lol

the program im refering to is the program that the chip is, oem p28 would a program for a sohc vtec, an oem p06 would have a program for a sohc non vtec and so forth, they can be custom mapped also via aftermarket programs, spoon/mugen/jun etc..

Hate to say it but your wrong. Yes a z6 program will run like crap. Not enough fuel or timing. But with a b16 program it still wont look for the knock sensnor. And if it does then who ever chipped out the p28 should get slapped.

p28 Phyisicaly does not havea Knock Sensor Board
stock knock sensor = pointless

sorry to bring this thread up from the dead but i have a question:

i know i don't need a knock sensor on my b-series because i have a chipped p28, but will running without one cause any potential harm? or does it not matter at all since the p28 doesn't even look for a knock sensor.

also if i'm going to be tuning with crome should i probably pick up a knock sensor?
