Default Well my cat blew... :(

i searched and didnt really find anything i was looking for

I have a carsound cat and i guess it is blown... it kinda rattles at around 3K rpm and sounds werid when you get on it alittle... i hear they blow alot i have been searching around and cant find were to get one .. i only find the ones you can weld on your car. Im looking for the one you just can bolt on.

I have a spoon header (2.5 in) and apexi N1 exhaust ( i think 2.25 in???) .. should i get the cat in a 2.5 in?? will it still find on the apexi exhaust ??

another question i have is there anything better then a carsound cat. something that wont really blow fast and sounds really good with the exhaust ( my exhaust sounds perfect with the carsound and i want to keep the same sound )

i also was think about getting a test pipe, but i hear they make your exhaust very raspy and i really dont want that.

anyone with any suggestions on were to get a bolt on carsound or something better then carsound ?

what you mean by cleaning it out.. so if i clean it out the sound will go away and sound normal again... when i look under the car it almost sounds like a exhaust leak.. i douno i will take it off soon and clean it ... what do i need to clean tho?

if you pull the cat off, you will see the material inside (forget the technical term), or it will just fall out. if you look in there and its loose, just stick something in there to crunch it up and remove it. then put the cat back on. might not be a bad idea to inspect the gasket between the header and cat as well.

alright i will have to do that.... one more question .. does a omni power test pipe make the exhaust really raspy?? or will it still sound really good and deep like it is right now with the carsound.

wow im dumb i dont think my cat is blown ... i was looking under my car reving it with a stick and see i have a blown gasket connecting the cat to the exhaust... i was like oh no big deal i can change that .. i go to autozone and since i have a apexi n1 exhaust they dont hae a gasket that will fit the exhaust ... the guy told me i have to order a new gasket from apexi??? i douno .. do apexi sell exhaust gaskets alone?? i just need the one that connects the cat to the apexi N1 exhaust...

i can feel the lose in performance... when i go in vtec it really isnt pulling like it use to and i can tell my miles per gallon are bad.. the car is eatting up gas fast lol ... i hope i can fix this soon i will check the apexi site for the gasket... till then does anyone know what i should do? were can i get a gasket that will fit my exhaust ..

Go to Midas or any exhaust shop. They'll have that gasket. Also, you'll need to mate the correct cat to the b-pipe and the header, so if you have a 2.5 inch header and a 2.25 inch b-pipe, you'll need to have a cat or test pipe in accordance w/ those specs..

I've just noticed something similiar with my car...I dun think a gasket would do this, however...I will check the cat to see if its plugged up...
