Default MIG Welder question...everyone is involved

Hi, I do design work at my job, and was curious... I want to mount a control for wire feed speed and current control on the spool gun of my mig welder (on the top), and was curious, would we all agree that this is a good idea?

Scenario: Laying under a car/truck, welding together exhaust hanger to pipe, but you realized your settings were not correct, you can simply adjust it from the spool gun right there. DOn't worry about design, or electronics or anything like that, because it can be done (and I already did it) , but I want to know how the concept grabs you.

I see some value to this... although the longest mig cables are usually only 10-15ft at most. Its not that hard to get up.. and you usually just set it once and weld with a mig. As long as you dont change material thickness.. but as they say, if you build it, they will come..
