I'm not sure exactly what you did. But when you do suspension work, you typically need an alignment. You can take it to a shop and get a printout, usually for free that will tell you if you are out of specs or not.

I don't know of anything in the bay area but over here, I go to a hot rod shop that has always done great work with my cars (only alignments). My mom takes her car to Bell Tire, they give her print outs and told her the last time she was there that her ball joint was bad.
Just call around and see what shops people recommend in your area. Or post in the GDD and see if anyone from the bay area can point in the right direction.

Heck ya, 40 bucks. I use to live in a town with only 2 alignment shops. Both were right around $40. The one I went to did a great job both times I went.
