I know this is bad, but how bad???
ok so recently i just got my "Dream Car", or so i thought. Its a 93 eg, Red, 5 spd and it came with a 95 LS motor, I paid $2400, not bad but then i start noticing they did the swap pretty much all wrong they cut and spliced wires that didnt need to be, they installed the alarm wrong, they pretty much messed up the whole harness so i bought another one at the Auto Wreckers, Speedo didnt work (fixed it they forgot to plug it in at the tranny), so anyway i didnt want the LS motor so i pulled it out and sold it, I start Cleaning the Engine Bay and I guess were the Fender well connects to the Chassis on the passanger side was cracked, now I know thats bad But how bad, its obvious the car was hit and i should have been paying more attention i was just excited i guess, anyway how will this affect the car is there a way i can fix or repair it without spending alat of money? Thanks.
take some pics and post it up, its hard to imagine the severity of the damage by words. maybe you could get away with light damage to the chassis, but i wouldnt drive a car with a weak frame due to an accident or something.
did u say part of the frame is cracked or is it just the body under the fender well. if its a cracked frame , all you can really do is find someone to weld some metal and patch it, but if ots on the body then ure gonna have to drop a little money on body work. so it cant be seen from the outside of the car? and why would you get rid of the ls motor?
Everyone makes mistakes, live and learn but you should be ok Ive seen a guy around me that has a del sol back up and running that was literally smashed. but do take it to have it checked by someone...but find someone you can trust.
