what kind of welder to use?

Default what kind of welder to use?

ok so im installing a jdm front end on my type r tommarow, and im going to be renting a welder

so i was wondering if someone could tell me what kind of welder i need to rent, i need to weld the front rad support, a few 2 or 3 inch beads, and a bunch of spot welds


also iv never welded before, but im goin to do a little practicing before i go to the car

Mig will be easiest but I suggest you befriend someone who knows what they are doing before you tackle this project.

yeah i was thinking about this more, and i no someone with a shop, id better just clamp it up and take it to him and have him lay down a few welds

you should try to get to know the shop guy, he might let you weld some scrap metal after hours. welding is a great skill to have, even if your not going to use it this time.

A MIG welder is the best for your application. You dont need to run beads on a rad support. All of the welding being done is just plug welds.

any welder will do it... just get a cheaper fluxcore. and if you havent welded before practice a bit before or get someone who does know how to weld. its not hard.
