Default Starting problem

After I let my car cool for a while I got to start and its takes 6 seconds of cranking (turning over) for the car to actually start. Then the car idols low for a second, then goes normal. After I drive the car and shut it off, and then start it 10 mins later it starts fine. but if i let it sit a while, it takes a while to turn over. what could it be?
