Well, the Kumho Ecsta 711 is absolute crap, so that's no surprise.

I assume you don't need to use these tires on snow or in frigid cold, so you can use summer tires, not all-season tires.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "not like Azenis". What don't you like about the Azenis? They will give you outstanding traction on dry pavement. They won't last very long, though.

If you care about price as well as performance - you want something that is fairly inexpensive, but provides decent traction - then get the Kumho Ecsta SPT. It offers very good dry traction, excellent wet traction, and very good treadlife, too. In the 205/40-17, it's bargain priced at $63/tire at the Tire Rack, which is a lot less than the otherwise-similar Yokohama ES100 ($85/tire). Excellent tire at a great price.

If you want even better performance than the Kumho SPT and you don't care about price, then consider the Goodyear F1 GS-D3, which is an outstanding tire. But it's not cheap at all ($155/tire in 205/40-17).

yep I have the 711 and they are full of ****. Go with the SPT or Es100. I will probably try the SPT since it new and look very good.

I have the g-Force Sport by BFGoodrich. I think they are a great tire. Better than the Kumhos I had before.

The g-Force Sport is comparable in both price and performance to the Kumho Ecsta 712... which is not a great choice in today's market. You can get much better performance for about the same price from the Kumho Ecsta SPT and the Yokohama ES100.

Like the 712, it's not that it's a terrible tire, only that you can get much better tires for the same price.

The RE750 is similar to the SPT - maybe slightly better. It's usually a whole lot more expensive than the SPT. But right now the Tire Rack has the RE750 in 205/40-17 on special for $63/tire, plus there's a $50 rebate on a set of four, so the price becomes $50.50/tire, vs $63 for the SPT in that size. So my recommendation in your case, for that particular size, is the RE750.

The performance of the Sumitomo just doesn't compare with either of those tires.
