can someone tell me what kind of motor is in a crx si-r...i found one at a dealership tonight...i don't know what year it is though...

 

highly doubtfull that you found an sir if you did you are extremley lucky...
sir comes with a b16a
si come with a d16a6 witch is probaly what you found...

how much are they charging you for the car?

 

there was no price on it i'm going to stop by tomorrow after work...but if it helps to tell it had rear discs brakes...

 

crx si's all come with rear disc brakes. You can tell it's an si-r if the front end is different. Still, people do their own sir front end changes by themselves. Juss check under the hood. Also a real sir will be rhd.

 

si and sir had rear disk brakes differences were in the front bumper headlights and hood but if you dont know what your looking for you wouldint be able to tell the difference... sir also had amber side markers but alot of people put those on and other than the side marker the fenders are identical... sir also had a glass roof si has a sunroof... sir had a spoiler

another way to check would be a VIN # or a carfax report...

 

raised hood back selts power windows kph in stead of mph on the cluster

 

It might be a canadian sir

 

back seats were a option on all JDM crx's. (glass tops also only optional)

Canada only had SE not SiR
SiR's can be imported into Canada legally, but it would still be a JDM car.

Probably just has the "sir" decal..But Im not doubting you,,because there is a 90 sir for sale like 30min from where I live at a salvage yard..HAd to look twice but its was infact a real sir..

 

and if the paint and doors are stock, it would say DOHC VTEC on the sides
