Default Short Shifter myth buster?

I apologize for the n00b question, but is it true that short shifters (ANY brand) will damage a civic's tranny/synchros over time? I've heard from a lot of honda mechanics that this is true. But on the opposite side Ive also heard people using reputable B@M short throw shifters for 5 plus years and having no problems. Just trying to get a straight clarification. I currently use a B@M shifter on my 95civic with gsr motor/tranny in it and it sometimes grinds in high rpms when shifting into 2nd which it never did before, but very rarely. Any input on if I should swap it back to stock?

a short shifter makes it easier for you to shift fast, and shifting too fast all the time can prematurely wear your synchros. so shift slowly when you're not hauling ***, and your tranny will be fine.

its all on how you shift, has nothing to do with what shifter you have

if a mechanic told you that it is hard on your tranny, then i wouldnt trust him as a mechanic
