Default How To Tell If You Need A New Ignition Switch or Ignition Cylinder?

As the title states.
Right now my ignition will move to ACC 1, but not ACC 2. Which means I cannot start my car.

if you put the key into the ignition it physically won't turn? I'd say check the key, then the ignition cylinder

don't know, jiggle the steering wheel while you do it. otherwise pull the steering column off, take the cap off the back off the ign cylinder and start it with a screwdriver, then just put the key to the 1st pos. to unlock the column.. I mean if you're stuck

Yeah, just take off the cylinder. Just put a flat head in there and turn.

You have to take everything to the right of the hub off. I've never done it, but I had my stolen car recovered this week and it was off. This is the only reason I know how it's done

On the left side of the cylinder opposite of the key hole there is a plastic white cap and there should be 2 screws take those off the cap comes off and there is a slit in the cap stick and objectn that is i guess like a jey of flat head and turn and the car should turn up......like the guy said myn was stolen to and myn was apart and hanging thats how i know and i was a tech so eh....
