GM 3-bar MAP sensor ? what to do about my ECU

I recently bumped my boost up to 9psi on my turbo D16Y8. I started throwing CEL's almost immediately for the MAP sensor. I've ordered a GM 3-bar and it should be here any day now. Its my understanding that the stock ECU won't run this MAP sensor. I'm currently running the S-AFC hack for fuel and a stock Y8 ECU. I do have a virgin P28 that I can chip if I have to, but I'd like to run the stock Y8 ECU for now if I can. Can someone please shed some light on this for me?

You can not run the stock Y8 ecu with a 3 bar. You must chip the ecu to support the addition of a bigger map sensor to be able to tune it properly.
You can use crome or uberdata, and make sure to get it tuned also.. don't run on a 3bar basemap. That wouldn't be a good idea.

you can have the 3bar work using the afc. set the map in on the afc to 10 or 14. don't know if it'll still throw a code above 10psi. I wouldn't recommend using it, but it does work with stock ecu and adjusted with safc.

I know it will work. But if you read my statement, I mentioned you won't be able to tune it properly.. being the key.
Edit: You weren't really directing that to me. So don't take that the wrong way.

you have a non-chipped p28 running your d16y8, i dont think so

Actually, yes I did have a non chipped P28 running my D16Y8 for about 2 years before I installed the turbo, with an OBDII to OBDI harness. It ran fine.
