Default Turbo ZC

I got a 91 EF std. Im not working with quite enough money to do a b series yet, so im thinking about doing a turbo ZC swap. Its dpfi right now. IF i put a Zc in there i can use a 91 SI ecu and engine harness right? And a 91 SI tranny will bolt up to a ZC right? A Zc will bolt right up.

You can turbo the ZC fairly cheap if you want to. I am working on 2 kits right now(1 for me and 1 for someone else). The kit I'm doing for my customer is just an IHI kit on an HF mani. ( http://s7.invisionfree.com/viz...=1195 )

The Si tranny will bolt right up.

A pic from the link. On the left is his IHI/HF setup, on the right is my 15G

turbo ZCs are pretty healthy,
but in the long run. it would be better to go b series for turbo.
you'll get a lot more tq.
and the turbo kits are gonna be about the same price,
thats my opinion though

I'd have to disagree to an extent.
Torque, the ZC and B16 (depending on the setup) would be very close in torque, they are close in torque stock. B16 would make more HP easily. The turbo kits are near the same price depending on what you use, but a HMT kit can be made for a ZC at a fraction of the cost. The ZC motor itself is just so much cheaper to get into than a B16. You could do a built ZC and custom turbo setup for what you would have in a stock B16swap + a full kit.

Do you know where i can find a ZC for a decent price. Iv got about 1200 dollars to do the complete swap. I prob wont be able to turbo it with that money but i wanna at least be able to swap a Zc in my car and put a Si trans in there in the next month.

You can do a ZC swap with $1200 and have quite a bit of change left.

Hmotorsonline.com is the best place to get a motor, you'll get a good motor for that price,
and when i said B series i meant more along the lines of LS, or b20, GSR or something 1.8 or 2.0
i know people who have turboed ZC's and while they spank my ***,
they cant touch turboed b20's and Ls
and a LS or B20 doesnt really cost that much more when you think about how much more HP and TQ you'll have after you boost it

ok going into a ef it will cost so much more for a ls or any b series you have to get axles linkages motor mounts and a tranny then you have to usually jump it from obd0 to obd1 for it to acually run right a zc bolts tight into the car bolts on the stock dx or what ever tranny he has well anyways ...... and dont under estimate the turbo zc i beat on a turbo gsr in a eg with my turbo zc !!!! acually the ls has 2 hp more then a zc thats the ba18a1 the b18b1 has 12 more hp not that big of a deal and the b20 has lots of tourque yeah but it has thin cylinder walls and i have hurd that it dont like to hold any types of boost not to mention the zc motor and a d series tranny are about 100 lbs+ lighter then a b series iam not hateing on b series i have a gsr in my crx but in my opinion dohc zc is the way to go and its cheap

How much do you expect to spend on a turbo. I think that I saw dohc zc's on hmotors for 575. My buddy bought a greddy turbo for 2100 new. Unless you already have the stuff to do this it would prob. be cheaper to do the swap that you want from the start.

i agree with you ZC's are cheaper and easier.
but i b series in the long run is still the way to go.

you get what you pay for,
and while a ZC is healthy like i said
a turbod LS Vtec will spank a zc. no matter how built it is,
cause its 1.6 you can only get so much out of a 1.6 anything
and that goes for b16s to

lol, true. I just had to address...

You can't limit a persons build potential, you don't know what that particular person has in mind, or in his wallet.

DON'T use the Si engine harness, it won't fit the plugs on the chassis harness. You need to modify your stock harness for the MPFI. Here ie a link with the info;
