Default EK9 mugen intake on an ITR, would it be restrictive?

i went ahead and bought a used ek9 mugen intake ( for $90! ). looking at the intake tube, the internal diameter is less than that of the stock itr filter ( 72mm vs 80mm ) do you guys think this ek9 mugen intake will restrict power due to the smaller diameter?

Yes I think it will restrict on a ITR, I have owned bother ITR and CTR which both mugen boxes are made for and the DC2 version is alot better.

So much better infact that I modded my CTR enough to get the DC2 Mugen Intake and ITR Intake Arm to fit into my EK9 CTR.

You are right the intake tube you have from the EK9 is alot smaller than the ITR one

I say it would restrict you would be better off selling that bling and removing resonator and cutting out the bottom of the stock ITR box and ducting it with a decent pod filter, Might not look as bling but work heaps better

I had bought a 1st Gen Mugen Intake for my ITR but it wouldn't fit. It'll only fit Integras with no ABS and I wasn't about to remove ABS for it. It also fits EG's and EK's though.

1st gen intake in my Si, was told it was for 92-00 Civics but I believe it's for 92-95 only reason being is how it sits and the fact that I had to remove my tranny torque mount and use an ITR intake tube.

this is the filter from my mugen intake, the tubing looks kinda small, i don't think i can use my itr intake arm with it, i'll probably need one from a b16

I thought the m00gen intake had a conical style filter. And where the hell did you get one for $90?

bought it at a local junkyard here in the philippines. gen 1 mugen intakes use kn filters, only the gen 2 intakes use the conical type AFE filter. Gump, how did you fit the itr arm? didn't you find it a bit loose? i have a feeling your tube is the bigger 80mm id size

My tube is only half the size as yours, and it fits snug in the tube.

If thats the King Motorsports EG like I think it is, thats the exact intake I bought

Anyways, notice how it sits tilted and close to the fender and you can see why it wont fit with ABS in a DC.... I tried for hours

Notice how the on th EG6 and my car the box sits very close to the radiator catch can, now look at this pic of another Mugen intake and how it sits in the engine bay.
