turbo charging a b16, when do i need msd/external coil
so i wana turbo a b16, at what hp or psi do you need the msd coil/ignition box/ect...
i will also upgrade to a hondadata ecu
trying to get 150-200 ft/lb of torque
i wana do it as cheaply as possible without undermining reliability
i wana use as many stock components as possible

Just last month there was a post in the F/I forum of a car making 730whp with 100% stock ignition..
Plus those msd boxes make hondas run like ****..always braking up in upper rpm..and just randomly not working ..Dont get that msd garbage..

True, oyu don't "need" the MSD setup at all. If you are upgrading to th eHondata, you'll need to upgrade to OBD1. If you are trying to do it as "cheaply" as possible, then stay OBD0 and run turboedit or go OBD1 and use Crome.
