i would suggest you sit in the actual seat. for my size, i used a the regular sparco evo. the evo 2 or evo L is the middle size with the evo 3 or evo XL being the largest. my regular sparco is for sale, but i highly doubt you would fit in it if you're looking for the XL.
There was a thread awhile ago about installing the EVO3s in a DC a few months ago and the guy had to notch his door panels by quite a bit and I believe the seats were almost touching eachother as well. How big are you? the EVO3 is pretty big.
The best thing you can do is to just find a way to sit in as many different seats as you can till you find what suits you best.

yeah i dont think im going to need one
i really want to find a business with them in stock so i can sit in both
even if i do get a xL driver seat id get a L pass seat
but by what iv been readin about what size people are that fit in L, i should fit in an L fine
only reason i was considering a XL is because the R is my only car, and i whould be driving at all the time, so id like to have a little comfort in the car

By all the questions you have posted related to these seats, you NEED to go put your *** in the lineup and actually decide by what really fits and what does not.
According to Sparco USA site listing the closest Sparco dealers to you are:
http://www.sparcousa.com/distributor.asp
OG racing
Sterling Virginia
800-934-9112
&
Mid Atlantic trading
New Egypt, NJ
609-758-9800
I picked mine up from Mid Atlantic and sat in the full line there and got a good deal on mine.
BTW looser does not equal more comfortable and can even be dangerous.

you won't regret it if you sit in the seat you are purchasing before actually purchasing. with my experience with the evo, a snug fit is more comfortable. my evo is far better in all aspects compared to the sparco speed seat is used for a little bit.

^^ Same problem with Evo2, it'll get right up to the door because the exhaust tunnel gets in the way just a bit.
I'm 6'4", 200/205 lbs, and I squeeze nicely into an Evo2. 34 waist. It is too short for me, however, the harness straps are touching the top of their guides in the back of the seat. Watch out for that.
Best price on Sparco seats is here:

(speedracer33 / Matt Bookler is the owner)
$585 for 1, $438 for the 2nd (EvoL)
