Default clearance questions for crx w. b16

ok i've searched about this already with no luck.
i've got a b16 in my crx, hasport mounts. and i currently have a dc 4-1 header in there. i've been looking to replace it with either a jdm itr header or a profab one. now i've searched to see which is better and of course found profab, which i had no doubt was the better one powerwise.

but i'm concerned of the fitment, all you ef guys know the crossmember clearance we were blesses with...

my question is could i bang on the crossmember a little to make one of theses header work? maybe a hack a little peice off? i'm running short on cash since i've been ordering part after part to get the car ready for may 6th. and i won't be able to get a traction bar setup. any other header thats bad *** out there that will accomadate the crx's crossmember and radiator?

and what about clearance issues on the profab with my radiator, i am aware that the oil pan clerance on the profab is sketchy but i have not problem fixing it.

please help and thanks in advance!

The only clearence problem you will have is this front crossmember, yes you can hack the crossmember. Denting it will not help much, unless you have a lift and a mull.

When the motor was put in my car, the stock header was a JDM 4-1 with 2.5" collector.

It didn't require any cutting of the cross member. I was using the Hasport EFB2 mounts (hydro conversion). The installer cut a piece from the cross member but we later realized that we didn't even need to, there was tons of clearance.

Any aftermarket 4-1 header will require some modifying of the front crossmember in a crx.

You could also look into the Hasport header made specifically for EF's, I have one and it fit perfectly with the stock xmember. It will only work if you're running obd0 though, it's got the two o2 sensor setup.

Oops. Sorry I meant to write 4-2-1... It was the OEM header that came with my Type-R engine.

My DC 4-2-1 is also dented and rusting to hell. Need to get something with a skid plate next time. I'm thinking RMF narrow, if it weren't for that $700 pricetag.
