NHRA Moroso season opener
As always it was a stressful couple of months leading up to the season opener last weekend in Moroso, FL. Taking time for some much needed improvements, such as a new front end built at MSP Motorsports, AR Fabrication midplate and Liberty transmission, left no time for testing prior to the race. Living in Chicago doesn't help much either, considering it was snowing the week of the race.
Straight off the trailer, we ran an 8.72 @ 173mph and 8.60 @ 175mph in Saturday's qualifying rounds, talking the #1 qualifying position. The semi-finals paired the Eggum Racing Civic against Stephane Beauregard's Dodge Shelby. Taking the lead off the starting line with a better reaction time, it was an exciting race and there was a huge reaction from the crowd as my civic took the win with an 8.50 @ 175mph to Beauregard's 8.55. I lined up against Kenny Tran for the final round and instantly took the win as he never left the starting line, but still ran another consistent pass of 8.54 @ 177mph.
I became the first woman since 2001 to win in the Hot Rod class (second ever) and this was the first Wally of my career! I must give props to my crew, who made the weekend possilbe, my crew chief Jeromie Hicks, Jim Eggum and Harry Hruska. Definitely an amazine start to the season and we plan on being a top contender the rest of this year.
NHRA and Sony Xplod have stepped it up this year, drawing a huge crowd for the first race of the season. The fans were amazing, filling the stands for each round of racing, stopping by to check out the car in the pits and coming to the autograph session on Sunday.

Thank you all so much for the support, it's definately appreciated by all of us on the team. The last few years have been crazy for all of us, so it's awesome to see the payoff.
The front end was done by Jeromie and the guys at MSP Motorsports, Efantis' shop, it was a hell of an ordeal but it turned out gorgeous.
