car cranks awhile before starting...what's wrong?
when i first start the car in the morning or after it's been sitting for more then about 7 hours, it cranks for about 5 seconds before the car starts? what should i check out?
Probably nothing, maybe the car needs new plugs/wires and rotor. I generally turn the ign to ON for a few seconds, then off, then on for a few secs then crank it, just gives the fuel system some pressure before trying to start it.
Oddly enough today I tried to start my car from the 2nd position with the key in there, and it just cranked since the fuel pump never primed. Now before you look at me funny, I have an s2000 style ignition with a button and key, so the key has to be in 3rd position and then I have to hold the button.
Anywho, check fuel and spark, since those are the other two primary pieces of the puzzle =P
