Default does the dizzy realy matter?

i'm an EF guy thats converting to obd1 an is a total noob at obd1. does it matter if the dizzy came from a non-vtec car? i plan on getting a D16Z6 so i will have vtec.

my point is, can i use a non-vtec on a vtec motor? or does it need to be from a vtec?

I think with the D16z6 head, you can only use the d16z6 distributor..I mean you can cut off legs and use washers to make other distributors fit but that means they dont really fit..

But when I did a minime on my d15b2 block/D16y8 head I used a 90 hf distibutor and it fit perfect..
