what cams were put in?
Do you have a VTEC controller?
what motor is it?
did u install cam gears?
its not the solenoid ... cuz vtec does eventually kick in

i have the same problem......for me it was my fuel system...too lean because the fuel system was all stock......i have AEM CAI...DC header....greddy EVO 2 exhaust ....i was running on vtec when check engine light came on...code 45.....i checked my spark plugs and they where white.........be careful not 2 run on vtec again u might burn your pistons....upgrade your fuel system and ignition....because im doing that too....then get it tune by a pro....see u around

S2S2's are a large cam, and allot of times having them set to engage at 5.5 is too low for allot of motors. To the origonal poster, list your motor with all mods that you have. Another possibility is that your "cam gears" are not accurate and you having them set at "0" in fact is not 0. They could be advanced or retarded, I know the SRR cam gears are **** for accuracy.
