the teg motor is obd1 and my car is obd2, what can i expect if i have to try to pass an emisions test. im worried because in ohio they just plug the testor into the obd2 port. will the obd2 port work with an obd1 ecu and harness? im just confused about the wiring that is involved. i havnt ever done a swap. i have seen a conversion harness online but im not sure how that works either please help thanks EJ8-y8

 

ummm im pretty sure all ej/eg's were obd1 dude

 

its a 96 96 and newer cars no matter what make should be obd2. if anyone can verify that it is obd1 that would make things easier for me. i hope your right but knowing my luck it wont be

 

a 96 is an ek not an ej
just pass emissions before u do the swap

 

its a coupe according to my title its an ej8 and as far as passing emisions the car has no motor in it so i really dont feel like rebuilding the y8 just to have to turn around and pull it back out to swap and then re pull it every two years inorder to pass again
