i know this is vague, but i have to drive like 85 miles to the nearest tuning place

well what do you have done to your car?? Do you need to retard your timing for a turbo install?? There are only two ways to change timing....one with a timing light and rotating the distributor....other is by computer......changing the ignition timing in the ignition maps via a software program like hondata, chrome , uberdata.....
I know my answer is kind of vague but you gave a vague question....people here arent going to spoon feed you information....try the search feature or come up with a more specific question....

i know how tuning works , i have crome data running the turbo right now, but the ignition timing is messed up, ill try finding **** online
the ignition timing only recently has been screwy,
and yes 85 miles is a lot of miles for some bullshit to go wrong
there are only shady places in Rochester, and i dont want to pay some shady dudes to 'fix' my ignition

ive been looking on PGMFI.ORG .......since i had such a vague question, is that at least a good place to start??? let me know
above 6000 rpms, the engine starts to sound hesitant, and it seems to not like the boost, like something is out of sync. Also, there are carbon deposits on the spark plugs, which in my Haynes book says could be a rich a/f mixure or ignition timing
and occasionally, when put into gear, the transmission catches super sketchy and makes the car shake if you know what i mean...like foward, back, foward, back really fast, and like makes stuff fall out of my console...this only happens when the engine has been on long, or if the spark plugs have been in for liek over 2 weeks w/o being cleaned......
sorry if that was off topic, but im just tryin to give you a better picture.......
and i need to shift up to 5500 rpms a few times each time i drive it for the air/fuel guage to lean out when im not boosting ( that is after i let it warm up, too)
the fuel pressure is fine... um ...if you need more info ill let you know
