Momo 1000 Lakes Seats
http://www.proflowdesign.com/1034.html
Anybody have any experience with these seats? Am considering selling my Recaro SRDs and ripping out the rear seats and installing these. What is the quality like? Comfort? Anybody know of a good dealer in the Bay Area where I might be able to find them?
TIA.

IM EFFECT on this board, Mike had them, I liked them a lot. Look great and very snug.
But why does the thread title say Recaro and not Momo 1000 Lakes?

Cosworth has that seat in his ITR. I just sat in it today. If you weigh about 170 or less its fine...any more then its going to be REAL tight.
His sits lower then stock...but thats due to his rail settings. Also difficult to get in if you dont have practice...but a cool and supportive seat nonetheless.
I need something reclinable personally..my back starts hurting after while...so i need adjustments.

I typed Recaro instead of Momo by mistake. Can't seem to correct the title now.
The fiberglass ones weigh 16.5 lbs; carbon fibre ones weigh 14.3 lbs.
Recaro SRDs are something like 35 lbs each with rails (similar to stock seat weight).

Yup, I have 'em pair up to Mugen seat rails and they rock! They sit about 2" lower than the stock USDM seat, so it's perfect when you put a helmet for autoX or track.
As TJ said... if you're over 180lbs, you won't be able to get out of the sit, once you're in. LOL. I'm at 5'11", 175-180lbs, 32" waist and it fits me perfect. I'm average build as well... people who are skinny and tall would definitely fit fine.. so, I don't know what TJ's problem was.
If you need some pics, I can take some for ya. Let me know.
p.s. 1000 Lakes are a bit reclined... if you compare to a stock seat, it's 2-3 clicks tilted from the up-right position. The seats are definitely not up-right as most race seats are.

I'm sure Mike will also chime in, but if you're over 180lbs and have waist bigger than 33", then you're probably better off with MOMO Acroplis or MOMO Nascar (just like 1000 Lakes, but slightly bigger).
HOWEVER, I do not know if Acropolis seats will take Mugen rail. On my seat, one side of the Mugen rail has spacers between the rail piece and the side of the seat. It's solid as can be, but it's not a direct fit. I've autoXed in 'em and they are more than fine.
IM AdamITR... he has Mugen rails + Nascar seats. He said that they were straight bolt-on, but that's what I've heard.
I'll take some pics tonight and e-mail you tomorrow. I had a pic on imagestation, but they are down now.

I'm 5"10, 205 pds, 34 waist and wear a 44 jacket, I like walks in the.........Oh wrong message board
I have a Momo Top Nascar, in Carbon/Kevlar which is Larger than the 1000 Lakes and the regular Nascar. The seat fits me perfectly. I sat in Mikes (EFFECT) 1000 Lakes and wedged my self in and out. But if your about a buck-fiffty sopping wet like Mike you should be fine. If your larger I reccommend a bigger seat.
As far as compared to the Sparco EVOs, Jgale on the board has EVOs and even though I don't fit right in them, They seem to be more comfy. I added padding to my MOMO seat.
And Yes the Mugen brackets will work with the MOMO seat.

Yep I had those seats, if you track your car you will like the 1000 lakes wayy better then the SRD's I slid all around in SRD's. BUT if you have a waist bigger then 34 or so, I would get the acropolis. I have a 33 inch waist and the seats were snug (perfect actually). I thought they were really comfortable too. One of my friends has a 38 inch waist and his *** wouldnt even touch the bottom of the seat when he sat in them because he got stuck hehe.
As far as mounting them, I would recomend the Mugen rails if you want to slide the seat... Mine were fixed..I had the wedge(momo) floor mounts drilled directly to the Momo side mounts.. If I would have had sliders on it the seat would have sat another inch higher and I didnt want that. Oh yea here's some pictures too, so this page can load even slower
lemme know if you have more questions.
