it seems to me, everytime i am low on gas either at the E mark or close to it, when i try to start it up it doesnt start up within the first 7 sec(maybe lack of fuel). so before starting i turn it over (only till the fuel pump sounds) about 3-5 times to let more fuel in and then start it. does this happen to you or am i just running a bad fuel pump. This is on my 00 Si.

 

perhaps you should put gas in your car before it gets to the E

 

yes i know this but i also want to know if anyone else experiences this. its only on my car though, if i drive my dads truck and it says 0 miles to E, it starts up without hesitation. Other cars too.

 

no mine doesn't. Maybe a 0.5 sec longer but not like for 7 secs.

its because honda is being honest where the gas level really is!!!!!!

 

Probably just running on fumes..Put gas in it..

 

pump some gas and you wont have that problem.

What he said, 5-7 secs is a pretty long time. Your holding it a long time.

 

If it takes you 7 secs to start up your car even if the bar is on E I think you have a problem. When I am really low on fuel it would take at most 3 secs.

 

just put gas in adn call it a day. its bad to always run your car to E, you are sucking up all the debris on the bottom of the tank and clogging up the filter

happens to mine and i know im not the only one. Not as extreme at 7 secs though, it just doesnt crank up right away. Trick is turn the key to the ON position then wait till you hear the *click. Should start right up

 

it doesnt have sufficient fuel to start up right away after u turn the ignition.
it should start regularly if u turned the key 2 clicks...prime then go
pump some gas for ***** sake
