91 Octane ??
When I had my b16 swapped I was told to only put 91 octane gas in it, but after doing some more research and asking some questions I found out that may not be true. Stock B16's (12 - 1 compression I think it is) don't need 91 octane. That they can run on regular old 87. When I had to let my parents take ownership of the car for like 3 months they only put 87 (forgot to tell them to put 91) and they said it ran fine like that (No pinging noises). Anybody?
its been covered
i searched 91 octane and came up with this
https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch
and that comp. ratio seems high for a b16a maybe sounds more like a b16b

it does not have 12:1 compression
and you need to run 91. just because you cant hear pinging dosent mean it isnt detonating and damaging the engine.

b16 has a compression range of the low end(b16a2) @ 10.2:1, to a high end (b16b) of 10.8:1. most are 10.2 or 10.4. those are about tthe same compression numbers as you'll find in gsr and itr engines, both of which call for 91 afaik
I doubt your parents really pushed the car at all, being driven like a granny might let it run ok on 87, but I wouldnt suggest continuing.
just my $.02

no dynos yet, mid may im having it tuned at king motorsports, dyno tuned.
But yea its a blast to drive!! The t3 isnt to laggy on the d, full boost, 7psi now with stock clutch and flywheel by like 3500. I just use lag as traction control. I have a 2 step rev limiter with antilag which spools it up and on street tires..... Well it kills tires lol. Tuned via crome. Just a mild "street tune" which will be changing.
but if i had to guess right now im like 205215whp, when i turn the boost to 10 psi and a better tune, king thinks 230 will be easy to squeak out.
