Default Half Shaft question

Quick question, the cable B16 half shaft had a female end so that the axle went into it. The ITR hydro motor has a half shaft with a male end, so the half shaft goes into the axles? Is this correct and if so why do they differ? Both axles I have right now have male ends so I'm going to assume I have to go back and get a driver side for a ITR and hope that it has a female end on the axle...

yea thats what the b16 one looks like. the guy at the auto parts store tried telling me all b series axles were the same then gave me what i thought was for a 97 type r. i guess ill just have to return the driver side for the correct one.

correct... cable b series trannys have female halfshafts with male ends on both axles...

hydro b series trannys have a male axle on the right side.. with a male halfshaft on both ends with a female on one end and a male on the other end for the hub on the drivers side... the correct axle would be the 94-01 integra.. if u have the itr halfshaft. i think u need the itr axles for it.. not shure tho

Kinda of off topic but are halfshafts necessary? What I mean is, are halfshafts part of the driver side axles or can I use an axle like the one in the picture:

OR

Is the half shaft only for the drivers side, and the axles in the picture are for the passenger side.

halfshafts are very damn nice.... it gets rid of tourqe steer... drive a 99 civic ex and u can feel the car pull right.. now dirve a 99 si.. and it doesnt do that

the halfshaft is only on the drivers side.. there is axles on both sides... just one connects to the halfshaft instead of the tranny
