Default Question about b16 w/ eagle stroker crank....

Just wondering if you have to use customs pistons when using the stroker crank like you do when running a LS crank??? I currently have a b16 block w/ 81mm wiseco pistons (10.8-1).....Thanks in advance guys.

Eagle doesn't plug the oil passages before they machine their cranks, so, even after careful cleaning, remnant particles work their way loose and between bearings and journals under oil pressure and rpm during operation, causing spun bearings and galled journals. Crower cranks are far better. you can also call Castillo or other shops which can offset-grind, weld, and re-heat treat stock cranks to whatever stroke you desire.

and, yes, unless you use really short rods which yield a very low, poor rod/stroke ratio, you'll need pistons with a short compression height and wrist pin 'buttons' which support the intersecting scraper rings. in short, you're far better off using an LS block if you can.
