99 prelude stereo problem
just picked up a 99 prelude and popped an amp and a sub in the trunk, did all the wiring and when I turn on the factory head unit the sub just hums... is anyone familiar on how the rear speakers in those preludes are wired
How did you hook up the amp. We have an Acoustic Feedback System for the rear speakers, kind of like an amp. If you wired your amp to run after the amp, that sould be a problem. Explain how you wired it up and we'll go from there.
How did you wire the amp for the subs? Did you use a converter on the stock wires. I had that same problem in a new corvet that I worked on. It turned out to be the converter that I used didn't work with the stock system. I had to get a special one becuase it was a bose system.
So you may have a bad converter or check all the conections again.

I used to have the same setup in my 97 Lude. I connected the RCA converter behind the deck itself and ran the cable under the carpet to the trunk. I have yet to have any problems with it (removed sub since).
