G23 ?s alot of questions.
i have so far...
f23 vtec98.....98 h22 head intake n throttle body.
shopping list..
custom pistons(11.5+,not sure)
cams(not sure)
valve train(not sur if needed.
motor is being built for weekend/light daily use.goal is 180wtq 210whp.
1.Pirate gave me a specfic piston weight that he figured would let the motor rev to 75k safely. i wanna know if im only revving to 75k do i Need a aftermarket valve train?
2.what kind of gain do type s cams bring with the higher compression and would aftermarket stage2s be ant better? considering my rev limit.
3.does the aggresiveness of the cams dictate whether aftermarket valve train is needed or is it how high you intend to rev?
4.think the stock rods can hold 100+ shot tuned with emanage? or do i need better management if it is possible?
5.size of exhaust?2.5 right.
TIA.

h22 head, f22 engine rsx type s pistons good for 11.8 c/r and around 200 whp from my understanding. You can use stock valvetrain try to pick up some s type cams for slightly upgraded cam profile.
ive got f23 block which i believe has alonger stroke. not really sure what type s pistons weigh but im looking to rev it to about 75k and im not sure if these will work with what i want to do but im gonna try n find out.

1.7500 should be ok with a stock valvetrain...
2. Type-S cams will only give yu moderate gains, but you probably dont want to get any off the shelf aftermarket h22 cams because they might make power a little higher...
3.Both... Rev limit and cam profile can affect whether or not you need a beefier valvetrain...
4. Probably... I wouldn't do it but I'm biast because I don't like spray...
5. Yes 2.5 is the standard......

you will have no problem revving to 7500 rpm. use the f23 stock rods rsx type s pistons and h22 head and you will have a monster for a motor.

No lighter pistons wouldn't change the r/s ratio but it would help still because it is less weight on the rotating mass... You can get custom shorter pistons and custom longer rods to increase the rod/stroke ratio but that is $$$... You have to also remember that f23 have thinner rods compared to the the rest of the f series and h/b...
how does yours run? did you ever get another tune? im now wondering if i should just put it on boost. i have a partial turbo kit i could put on.
any idea of when a T4 with a .81 hot would spool. i have a T4 that i would like to put to use but not sure if it would spool quick enough.

Hello,
I know am bumping up a very very old thread.
But just to avoid creating a new one.
What would be rev limit for the following setup in your opinion:
H22 head - F23 bottom
Je Pistons K20
F23 oem rods
Super tech valve train
Crower stage 3 cams
Exhaust header
BMC street intake manifold
70mm tb
ACL HX bearing on the bottom
Balancer shaft deleted
Kind Regards
