Default s300 issues, user lend a hand here

has anyone had any tune losses, or tune inconsistencies after completing a tune with an s300?

i mean,

car was street tuned, and dyno tuned, AF was perfect. every now and then the wideband will just show wicked lean thru the entire map. drive it around for a bit and it will go away, perfect AF again

thanks

Check your open/closed loop settings.

looks like others have experienced this problem too, i got this from a thread on the same page about the s300

not sure if you are the one attempting to tune or someone else.

but make sure they know what they are doing with the system.

ive tuned dozens of s300's already and havent had any issues since the first couple bugs were worked out quickly.

i have done a few so far, but these last couple have just been a little funky, one of the maps after saving had fuel values skewed a tad, dont know why tho, then the lean issues started to occur

well im glad to hear i am not the only one this has happened to, one of the customers called me last night, 24 hours after tuning and said his wideband was showing a lean value while under WOT, and i know for a fact it was not that way when it was street tuned.

on the dyno after about an hour of tuning, fired the car up, went make a pull and as soon as you would get into the throttle it started going lean, way leaner than i wanted, and i hadnt changed anything, just let the car cool down.

stopped, shut the car off, waited a minute fired it up went to make a pull, and it was just fine. were talking the difference between 13.0 AFR, and 15.9 AFR, just not understanding how it just went so lean, with no changes

Check the IAT corrections or ECT corrections. That would be my guess.

Sorry for the delay. I tuned the car. The IAT and ECT corrections are at 0.0 for the range when the car is doing this. It is very random. The car is a bolt on gsr, made 174/135 and rides out. I was street tuning the car, made a pull and A/F was great. Stopped for maybe 15 seconds and started making another pull, the A/F's were around 14.8ish and I let off. Cruised for about 1 minute, checked things out...started another pull and same thing. Stopped at a red light, maybe 1 minute or so, made another pull and all was back to normal. I had one more issue like this on the dyno as well.

I had the same problem with the s300 before
I set all the compensation to 0 and it helped since they dont work anyway.....but that thing almost blew my motor before, it does seem a little better now since they made some changes to the software

make sure your wideband sensor is good also sometimes when they get old they read wrong at full throttle

Never had any problems with the S300. Works flawlessly on all the cars I've tuned.

I like the platform of the s300 but it has in fact given me alot of headaches that were not needed and could have been avoided with prior testing...

youll find that most people that vouch for the system either sell it, have low hp cars on stock injectors or make money on it .. tuning it .....

when hondata tells you" well..its not inteded for a street car"....you want to slap them

D@nny, so by setting the entire compensation range to 0.0, it has corrected the problem?

We had three wideband's on the car. My PLX, the owners AEM and the dyno's wideband. They all showed the same issue.

Unfortunately I have not ran into the issues that you guys have. I'm not saying I don't believe you guys though. But if you read any EMS, it's for off-road use only. Same with pistons, rods, boost controller units, etc etc. I do vouch for the system because I've ran this on several customers set-ups that have made 400+whp on 1000cc injectors.

I push this product because I believe in it. If I do run across this problem I will definetely post it up in this thread.

setting the compensation to 0 on everything helped out.....I noticed when you load the maps or connect to the computer it would have more porblems..I wouldnt expect hondata to be of any help

I can tell you It really sucks having to watch a wideband while your at 140 mph on the track

My car has been down due to one over priced Defective item after another....

I am not saying hondata is a pos, just wanting to find out what is up with this particular s300 unit.

D@nny, have you tried someone else's s300 in your car?
