Default Honda spoilers verses eBay spoilers???????????????????

Hello all! New to this forum. Just picked up a 2003 EX Coupe in silver. It doesn't have a spoiler and I would like to put one on myself. The factory painted Honda spoilers run around $400 shipped but I have found some on eBay that say they are just as good as OE Honda spoilers but I would like some outside opinions. Here is one that I was looking at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1

Thanks!

I think that's a good deal, and I doubt they are using anything but OEM spoiler.
If I were you, I would buy it.

Honda will charge you more because they have employees, bills and all that stuff... so all comes to higher price inside their dealerships and stuff.

go for it!

My dealer sells a lot of acessories on Ebay. Check out the MagAutoParts link in my signature. Their prices are pretty darn close to employee prices.

OEM spoilers tend to have a slightly better fit than aftermarket ones. By that, I mean that aftermarket spoilers tend to have a slightly larger gap between it and the trunk lid. Honestly though, it's barely noticable.

Other than that, and having the word "Honda" on the underside of the spoiler, there's not much difference. I believe there's a website that has instructions, but I'm currently not at my home computer. I'll have to check at a later time.

OEM spoiler fits a tad better in the following area...

1)gasket-oem will not leak and deform like aftermarket one

2)mounting bolt-it might or might not fit in oem mounting holes, newer honda have a little bumpy dot that show where to drill but with aftermarket it's a hit or miss.
i installed two spoiler for the same car(AV 98-02), both are aftermarket, one fits and line up in the mounting hole but the other missed by a mile.
not a big issue if you have the shop or you are good at eye balling stuff.

3)honda logo/accord logo, no biggie

4)Led light-some cheaper on is stick on while the oem one is bolted down, give it acouple of year, the glue will wear off and it will fall off your trunk.

but again, it's like 100 buck cheaper, i'll go for the aftermarket one.

all three of my honda comes with oem spoiler, they fits like a glove

last tip for you, measure twice drill once, tape the area down, the little metal dust can scratch your car, don't wipe it down, use a vaccum to suck it out.
drill the bastard with the right bit, and make sure you drilling in reverse, because if the bit catches the metal, it will pull the drill in fast.

get the honda one. It's guarenteed to fit and plugs right in to the electrical harness via the 3rd brake light connector. It also comes with the springs needed for the trunk as well (98- Present cars)

Both links I posted are honda products. Plus you will pay less then going to the dealer....

I bought a spoiler from that seller for my 96 accord and it fit perfectly. Me and brother installed it easily enough. Just drilled the holes and then I tapped into the brake light cable in the back and it works perfectly and looks just like oem. Best of all it's much lighter than the honda one so you don't need any springs. The paint job was near immaculate. Had a little, and mean small, defect on the bottom, but it was hardly noticiable. I can post pics if you want.
